COVID-19 Update

COMPASS Family and Community Services wants to create the safest and healthiest environment for clients and staff members. We want to make sure you have the best treatment and services that you deserve. During this time we appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this very challenging time.

In an effort to ensure the safety and well-being of the clients that we serve and our staff, all programs of COMPASS Family and Community Services are closely following information from the Centers for Disease Control and the Ohio Department of Health. This information is being disseminated to our clients and staff to help educate them and to be proactive in addressing the virus.

COMPASS Residential Programs

We have developed the following action steps to limit any potential exposure to the virus:

Assessing for virus symptoms at the time of referral.

Requesting that anyone who enters our facilities to wash their hands and that staff and residents wash their hands several times per day. Signs are posted throughout the building to provide education of proper hand washing and to serve as a reminder for increased hand washing.

Temporarily suspending all outings and increasing the amount of on-site activities (crafts, exercise, etc.) while practicing social distancing.

Substantially cleaning and disinfecting frequently touched surfaces throughout the day.

Regularly checking residents’ temperatures and monitoring for virus symptoms.

Restricting visitation to our facilities to only necessary team members and guardians (Daybreak Youth Crisis Center).

For over 44 years, Daybreak has been providing services to abused/neglected and runaway/homeless youth. Throughout this time, we have adapted to meet the ever-changing needs of the youth and our community. We continue this commitment even with the challenges of the coronavirus. While the virus is quickly changing our environment and everyday lives, rest assured that Daybreak is still here to meet the needs of at-risk youth.

In addition to these actions steps, we are working with the residents to continue their education during the governor-mandated, extended spring break. The residents have access to WiFi to complete assignments online. They also have access to computers if needed. We are also working with the residents to address any anxiety or fear they might have as a result of the virus.
