Who We Are

Financial Education Services (FES) is a financial literacy program. The purpose of FES is to assist families in gaining the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to manage money and make financial decisions in an informed and effective manner.

Our Goal

To treat all clients with confidentiality, dignity and respect while providing the knowledge and tools to:

  • Protecting your home from foreclosure
  • Seeking and obtaining decent, affordable rental housing
  • Developing financial goals
  • Understanding credit and how to use it wisely
  • Saving, insurance, and investments
  • Budgeting and effective money management
  • Establishing, building and maintaining good credit
  • Pre/post bankruptcy counseling
  • Re-establishing credit after bankruptcy
  • Protecting your family against financial loss
  • Consumer awareness topics such as how to avoid predatory lending and protection from common scams and rip-offs
  • Planning for long term self-sufficiency/retirement
  • Converting your home into cash through Reverse Mortgage

  • First-time Homebuyer Education Workshops
  • Budget/Credit Counseling for those applying for bankruptcy and for those who have already filed for bankruptcy

Special Challenges

We offer counseling to help families manage through special challenges that come with:

  • Job loss
  • Major health problems
  • Lack of affordable housing
  • Major debt and impending foreclosure
  • Major life changes and events such as: marriage, separation, divorce, death of a spouse, domestic violence, etc.

Our staff consists of bachelor’s degreed counselors trained and/or certified in finance, lending, credit and housing counseling.
